This January I had the pleasure of meeting the newest member of this family, sweet baby Molly. Newborns typically require some behind the scenes soothing before we get them settled in the posing basket. Molly, however, snuggled right up with mom and dad and didn't make a peep when we changed her outfit and posed her. I can honestly say this is the fist time I've photographed a newborn who didn't cry once. 2017, you're already full of surprises. I like it. I'd like to thank you guys for a fantastic photo shoot. I hope you have a wonderful year.
Now that Christmas is over I can finally post some Mead family photos. These guys decided to surprise their mom with some framed photos of themselves. I'm pretty sure any mom would love to receive photos as a gift. Something to keep in mind for next Christmas! Thanks for the fun shoot Mead Family (and girlfriends)!
This February, Lisa and Clay invited me into their beautiful home to meet the newest member of their family, baby Vianna! Her sweet little head is full of gorgeous dark locks, just like her mama. She was a delight to photograph and if Vianna started to fuss, Lisa demonstrated how a "football hold" works well to sooth an upset baby (It really does work! Google it, you won't be sorry). Lisa also did an amazing job with the props she used to display Vianna's name, date, and time of birth. I believe she said she was inspired by a Pinterest post. Congrats Lisa and Clay, you've got a really adorable baby girl to love and cherish.
I spent a beautiful fall afternoon with Lacey and her family at the Vernon church near Mclean, SK. I love taking photos of old buildings so it was a real treat to hear a little bit about the church. It's very old - like over 100 years old- and it's not exactly modernized, but that definitely adds to it's charm. They only hold services about once a month in summer, and wintertimes it is rarely used because heating it is quite a job. It takes 2 days for the wood stove to get the place warm and ready for Christmas service!
Lacey's daughter was baptized at the church so it was a gorgeous and centimental location for her maternity photo shoot. They were a beautiful kind family and I am excited to meet their newest addtiton some time soon. Congratlutaions Lacey and family.
This July I met up with Kelly and her family for a later afternoon photo shoot. I met Kelly though my Roller Derby league, Pile O' Bones Derby Club. Natuarlly she had a few mean looking shin/ankle bruises I had to Photoshop out. We brag about sweet bruises in Roller Derby, but they don't quite fit in for family photos! Kelly has a super cute son, Tommy. I met him earlier this year for his 2nd birthday photo shoot. Unfotunatly he was feeling sick and lethargic that day. Definitely a contrast to the energetic, funny, and sweet boy that showed up for family photos! I had a great time shooting photos with a great looking group of people!
