This September, Ashley and Curtis shared their wedding vows during an intimate ceremony in front of family and friends at Truly Unique Country Weddings. These lucky folks are one of the last couples to be married at this fantastic venue. Truly Unique have now retired from the wedding business after many years of hard work and wonderful service. I'm sure TUCW is happy to end their career with such a fantastic couple!
Ashley and Curtis really are fantastic to work with. These two are so relaxed. It must be from all the fresh air they get, hiking and canoeing with their pup Jake. Jake the dog served as an honorary groomsman and he even walked down the aisle with Curtis. He is, after all, an important member of the family!
On this beautiful September morning, Ashley and the bridesmaids started their day at Blush Beauty Bar where the crew did a fantastic job applying makeup to these already beautiful ladies. We then headed over to Ashley's home for snacks, hair, and final touches. Ashley is a very creative lady, which I'm sure serves her well in her Esthetics career. On this special day, she put her creativity to use, preparing a stylish and tasty brunch of appetizers and a DIY mimosa bar. Ashley's gorgeous sense of style was also apparent at the reception that she decorated in her signature chic fashion.
While the girls prepared for the day, Curtis and the groomsmen had a relaxing morning getting ready at his groomsman's house. As typical of most wedding days, the guys had a lot more time to visit and relax before getting into their suits.
In the mid-afternoon, we gathered just outside Regina at Truly Unique Country Weddings. Under the warm afternoon sun, Curtis and Ashley shared their vows in a simple and heartfelt ceremony. Following the ceremony we explored the grounds of TUCW for formal photos. We made sure to include some photos of the couple's canoe to celebrate their passion for adventure and each other. All in all, it was a perfect wedding day. We had great weather, great locations, and an amazing bride and groom. Everyone was smiling as the afternoon turned to evening.
After formal photos, Ashley and Curtis invited their guest to join them for the reception in the tent where they shared a great meal, music, and lots of dancing. Congratulations Ashley and Curtis! We wish you a lifetime of happiness.
Meranna and Kirk celebrated their union with an intimate ceremony in their home surrounded by their closest friends and family. Meranne did an amazing job of decorating her basement. She put so much work into lighting, draping, decor, and details; you would never guess their nuptials took place in their own home. To add more credit to her craftiness, I need to point out the amazing job Meranne did constructing the bouquets. They turned out absolutely fantastic.
Since Meranne and Kirk were having an evening ceremony, they chose to do a “first look” before we started formal photos. I am a huge fan of first looks. They are always so emotional! Their wedding date ended up being very windy and rainy. Luckily we had booked out some time at the University of Regina for family and formal photos. It was overall a wonderfully relaxed day. After the humble ceremony that included their own vows, the couple and their guests shared a lot of laughs, food and drink, and played some card games. To me, the event felt like a cozy family get together, which Ward and I were honored to be a part of.
Congratulations Meranna and Kirk. We wish you many happy years!
On a beautiful October afternoon Jill and Preston said their vows at Westminster United Church in Regina. This beautiful little church was filled with love and happiness, as the couple made their love official. Jill and Preston are laid back and a ton of fun. They made sure their guest knew this by treating them to a surpise bagpipe processional! After the ceremony we headed out to Lumsden for formal photos. The laughter was non-stop during photos and kept on going throughout the reception at Lumsden Centennial Hall. Congratulations Jill and Preston!
Erin and Bryce shared their wedding vows on a warm and windy September afternoon. Erin and her three closest friends helped each other with hair and makeup in Erin’s childhood home. At Salon Fli, Erin’s hair dresser fastened a vintage inspired bird cage veil. It went perfectly with the tea length wedding dress and the bridesmaid’s mix-matched dresses.During the ceremony Erin and Bryce shared sweet personalized vows while their guests passed around the wedding bands and gleaned their positive sentiments onto the rings, blessing them. The barn at Sherwood Forest was full of love that afternoon.
The wind calmed down a little in time for formal photos. Erin and Bryce walked along some train tracks on the outskirts of Regina. The rest of the wedding party joined us back at Sherwood forest where we explored a field on the edge of the valley. The fall really does beautiful things to the colors there. We found ourselves back at the big red barn for the reception. After supper and speaches, the happy couple ended their first dance with a dramatic dip. Congratulations Erin and Bryce!
I had the pleasure of shooting Jenna and Kevin's wedding this July.
The day started off in the gorgeous Sara Lindsay Makeup Studio where Jenna and her bride’s maids had their hair and make up done. We then went to Jenna and Kevin’s home for the remainder of the pre-ceremony photos. The ceremony was held in the early afternoon at the Lakeview United Church. The ceremony was simple and elegant.
Like most Saturdays this summer, we were not without a little bit of rain. Lucky we were able to get inside the Legislative Building during the down pour. Once the rain stopped we spent the rest of the afternoon in a welding yard for some fun, cute, and romantic photos. After formal photos, we headed to the Travelodge Hotel for the reception. Congratulations Jenna and Kevin!
