In September I met up with Tiffany and Daniel in Melville for their engagement photo shoot. They are getting married in the Spring next year. Tiffany and Daniel brought their puppy, Macey, along for some photos too. I think they make an adorable little family. Congratulations Tiffany and Daniel! I'm looking forward to your wedding next year :)
There are lots of pretty cool things about being a wedding photographer, but one of my favorite perks is participating in an important milestone in peoples lives. This is even more true when I am photographing a wedding for a friend. In my blog post for Jordan and Rena's engagement photo shoot, I gushed about what a great guy Jordan is. Now that I've gotten to know Rena I can say that she is every bit as kind, humble, and beautiful. I am so, so glad that I could take part in Jordan and Rena's big day. Saying it was fantastic would be an understatement.
Rena is great at planning and their wedding day went off without a hitch. We had a very rainy morning that let up just in time for the ceremony. Then we spent the rest of the afternoon taking formal photos on a beautiful farmyard just outside of Melville. The evening ended off with a reception at the Horizon Credit Union Centre. I always feel like I'm at a loss for words when trying to describe how awesome a wedding day was, so I hope the photos do it justice. Congratulations Jordan and Rena! You guys make an amazing team.
Last week I had the pleasure of meeting adorable baby Maverick. He was a wee bit over due (can you blame him? It's February, no one wants to go outside!). I'm sure Chantel and Andrew are thrilled to finally have this cutie pie home and in their arms. He was quite alert and curious for most of his shoot. I have a feeling this one is going to skip the crawling stage and go right on to walking. We managed to get him settled down for some sleeping poses. He was even calm enough for some "hunting" poses, which made dad pretty excited. Congratulations Chantel and Andrew!
This fall I had the pleasure of photographing Karen and Terry's wedding in Melville, SK. Terry and I became friends when we attended the same highschool in Melville. Terry is truely one of the nicest guys ever, so I was thrilled to be a part of his and Karen's big day! (For the record, I have discovered that Karen is just as kind hearted as Terry).
The ceremony was held at the Penticostal Church. Karen and Terry requested a shot of the kiss from behind the alter. We were fortunate enough to have a very easy going minister who was more than happy to allow me behind the alter for that moment. After the ceremony we went to the Reginal Park and a car wrecking yard for formal photos. The reception was held at the new Horizon Credit Union Centre. Congratulations Karen and Terry!
