This June Tiffany and Daniel tied the knot in one of my favorite cities, Melville, SK. I could tell immediately that we were going to have a fun day. That morning I was greeted at Shear Concepts salon by a smiling bride and bridesmaids, all giddy with excitement. The anticipation of what's to come makes getting ready photos truly enjoyable to be a part of. After hair and make up, Tiffany and the girls got dressed at the home of Tiffany's mother. Daniel and his grooms men had a relaxing morning getting ready at the beautiful home Tiffany and Daniel share.
In the early afternoon Saint Henry's Catholic Church was brimming with family and friends to witness Tiffany and Daniel make their love official. The priest prepared a ceremony that had everyone smiling. We spent the rest of the afternoon taking formal photos around Melville. We made sure to stop in at the Waverley hotel, where Tiffany and Daniel met. Naturally the wedding party stopped for a quick refreshment before we headed to the Horizon Credit Union Center for the reception.
Congratulations Tiffany and Daniel. We wish you many years of happiness!
Melissa and Curtis said their "I Do's" this February in front of family and friends at the RCMP Heritage Centre. We were so fortunate to be treated to a much warmer than seasonal February; I was hard pressed to find a spot for formal photos that still had some snow on the ground. Luckily A E Wilson park made for a beautiful setting. We also spent some time at Government House and then we headed to Scarth street for some more photos near O'Hanlon's pub, which just happens to be where Melissa and Curtis met. After we completed photos, the wedding party warmed up in the pub before heading to a beautiful reception at St. Mary's hall. It was awesome to spend such a great day with this wonderful couple. Congrats Melissa and Curtis!
This August we spent a lovely Saturday afternoon in Yorkton photographing Alexandra and Steve's wedding on the Benko family farm. Ward and I both really enjoy shooting Yorkton weddings as they are always a lot of fun. Alex and Steve's heartwarming ceremony was held in front of a beautiful wall that Steven made using re-purposed wood from an old corral. It turned out great and looked beautiful in the pictures! After the ceremony, we continued to Alex and Steve's farm just a few Kilometers away. We spent the afternoon taking photos in their gorgeous yard. It was really a goldmine for photos- barns, bins, wheat fields, and helpful neighbors who were more than happy to bring everyone refreshments and borrow us their rifles from some “authentic” farm life photos. I think it's safe to say that everyone had a ton of fun while the afternoon flew by. As the sun began to set, we headed back to Yorkton for the reception at St. Gerald's Hall. I hope you guys had as much fun as we did. Congratulations Alex and Steve!
In early August Jenn and Nick made their love official in front of family and friends at the Christ Lutheran Church in Regina, SK. I had a feeling we were going to have a fantastic day and I was right. I was told on several occasions that Jenn and Nick are the "nicest people you will ever meet". It wasn't an exaggeration. These guys were all smiles all the time. Their positive and kind nature has surrounded them with a clan of fantastic people which pretty much makes it impossible to have a bad time in their presence.
The girls started their day at Shear Escape Salon while the guys relaxed and got ready at Jenn and Nick's home. Jenn got into her beautiful wedding dress with the help of her mother and brides maids at her parents home. The ceremony that followed at Christ Lutheran was touching and sweet. Jenn and Nick requested a shot of the entire wedding party and all of their guests. We managed to get this shot with the help of a wide angle lens and my awesome husband/assistant Ward hanging out in the balcony so everyone could look up at him for the photo. We don't normally do photos like this but I'm glad we did. It was fun and the result was really cool!
We took formal photos in the beautiful Government House court yard as well as the Marina in Wascana. The day ended with a reception at St. Mary's Hall on Winnipeg Street. Congratulations Jenn and Nick. I'm sure you will have a lifetime of happiness!
