This June Tiffany and Daniel tied the knot in one of my favorite cities, Melville, SK. I could tell immediately that we were going to have a fun day. That morning I was greeted at Shear Concepts salon by a smiling bride and bridesmaids, all giddy with excitement. The anticipation of what's to come makes getting ready photos truly enjoyable to be a part of. After hair and make up, Tiffany and the girls got dressed at the home of Tiffany's mother. Daniel and his grooms men had a relaxing morning getting ready at the beautiful home Tiffany and Daniel share.
In the early afternoon Saint Henry's Catholic Church was brimming with family and friends to witness Tiffany and Daniel make their love official. The priest prepared a ceremony that had everyone smiling. We spent the rest of the afternoon taking formal photos around Melville. We made sure to stop in at the Waverley hotel, where Tiffany and Daniel met. Naturally the wedding party stopped for a quick refreshment before we headed to the Horizon Credit Union Center for the reception.
Congratulations Tiffany and Daniel. We wish you many years of happiness!
On August 16, 2014, Megan and Stephen tied the knot. It was grey and rainy while Megan had her makeup done at Blush Beauty Bar. The skies finally started to clear by mid afternoon, just in time for a beautiful ceremony at Kiwanis Park. After some family photos we headed to Wascana Park and Darke Hall for formal photos. The fun continued at the reception which was held at the Italian Club. Congratulations Megan and Stephen!
This August I joined Alannah and Jared at the Holy Child Parish in Regina to photograph their very happy wedding day. Alannah and Jared had a traditional Catholic wedding. Their day was extra special because a close family friend was able to perform the ceremony for them. Alannah really wanted me to capture a kiss behind the altar. Although I had not previously attempted this, I agreed to do it and I am glad I did! I can see why this is a popular trend. Seeing the guests reaction to the kiss is awesome.
After the ceremony we went to White City to take formal photos in their friend's gorgeous backyard garden. We only had an hour and a half to get family and formal photos done, but that didn't stop us from getting a lot of beautiful images. After the formal photos we returned to the Holy Child Parish Hall for the wedding reception. Congratulations Alannah and Jared. I hope you had as much fun as I did.
This August I had the pleasure of photographing a wedding for one of my oldest and dearest friends, Lisa. I was so happy to be there for all the special moments. Being able to experience my friend’s happiness and excitement first hand was truly an honor. So thank you, Lisa and Ryan, for letting me photograph your wedding.
This wedding was also special because it was my first RCMP wedding. Ryan is a Constable with the RCMP and so an honor guard was present for the wedding ceremony and formal photos. Congratulations Lisa and Ryan! I wish you years of love and happiness!
In early August, Ward and I and I traveled to Courtenay, BC to photograph Rebecca and Alex’s wedding. The couple celebrated with close friends and family members. They were married in the gardens at the gorgeous King Fisher Resort. We only had one hour to spend on formal photos, so we walked around the resort and managed to capture some beautiful images in the trees. We also walked along the shore during low tide. I must admit I was sad to be leaving the resort that same day. If I could do it over again I would have taken one day of holiday on the island to just sit and look at the ocean, eat some fresh fruit, and drink some local brew. It was just way to beautiful there. That being said, we did manage to visit my relatives in Vancouver for 2 days, which was fantastic as well (but again, I would have loved another day there!). We arrived back in Regina feeling great and looked forward to next weeks wedding.
And here is a photo of Ward and me while we were visiting Stanley Park. <3
